"reporting for service with bryan anderson"

i had the good fortune to help create a documentary whose goal was to improve the lives of kids residing in gang-infested windy city neighborhoods. after we heard about native chicagoan, bryan anderson, a heroic, Iraqi triple amputee with a desire to give back to the chicago community, the rest just fell into place: the recruited would become the recruiter. bryan would shine a beacon of light on the chicago-based organizations that are already mentoring and giving less fortunate youths part-time jobs; and encourage others to “report for service” in the same way. as a result, quite a few community businesses heeded our call, and that alone was rewarding enough. the chicago emmy we received was icing on top of an already perfect cake.
