pepsi. three campaigns.
this highly praised superbowl, cinema and online spot won an emmy nomination, a lion, was listed as one of the top 25 commercials of all-time, increased pepsi’s sales dramatically and earned lots of bragging rights for my mom!
having earned tons of free, highly favorable press, this award-winning spot trounced coke’s lemon-flavored soft drink in sales.
we convinced nbc to tell us us who was going to be fired before "the apprentice" season finale, so we could realize what would become a groundbreaking, much-copied idea: we filmed the fired guy getting into the cab (at the end of the show just before they’d cut to a commercial) so the action appeared to continue seamlessly. we even reprised the guy who got fired the week before to great effect, both for the spot and a nice bump in pepsi twist’s sales.
due to our success on pepsi twist, the client awarded us the launch of pepsi edge. this campaign was incredibly successful in creating awareness and trial.
my partner and i beat out fourteen worldwide bbdo agencies to create a new campaign, including this spot, for pepsi international. this particular three-month labor of love received a silver clio.
